There would be a tipping point where voters decided they would vote for Trump based on his promises. If Trump reneges on those promises, or doesn't even try to implement those promises, then I doubt "all" of his previous supporters would still support him, (given the vote again, they may just stay home).
It is sad that people accept lying as okay, especially when it comes to something as important as running a country.
If it was a consumer product, imagine the uproar if a company made promises that were straight out lies, yet politicians do it all the time and the plebs make excuses for them.
