From what I see is gold price is volatile now and there's every pressure and it will be manipulated DOWN if US raises its interest rate. In addition, India is currently has policy of stopping some corruption money by swapping some of the old notes into new notes, those who are forced to hold part of the old cash will not be able to exchange that into gold when their old cash becomes unusable, Hence gold demand will be much less. If the gold price get hit again, it will affect MLX Share price, hence the demerger to protect the company share price.
