it was widely thought that zinc was being dragged down by copper not by its own fundamentals.
if the market has percieved that copper has finished selling off (may or may not have) on really high volume then they may assume that zinc will bounce back with it tonight.
therefore shorts may want to close their position and old sellers may buy back in.
i was suprised to say the least.
