I am not sure that big pharma doesnt make money off malaria. Maybe not as much money, but they will make profit off the manufacture of the products. Novartis justify investment in Artemether manufacture now. Any additional use, and in-field use would increase the uptake a lot, would produce better economies or scale and therefore increase any limited margins that may be there now.
