My reading of the feasability study is that the battery is an add on to the generation. In this case the scenarios in the study revolve around the existing wind farm (owned by Synergy), a solar farm and concentrated solar thermal.
My concern would be, that in awarding a contract, Western Power would consider the experience and track record in delivering such a development. Does Sunconnect have such experience in delivering a solar farm?
From their web site, their experience in this field is not noted. In fact, if you were to judge a company solely by their web they are lacking. Their news links latest event is in 2013!

Several months ago I argued against AVLs chances of success in the microgrid field, suggesting that they have missed the boat and allegiances/partnerships have already been forged in the electricity field. That they could have more success in the mining industry.

A pertinant example of these partnerships would be that both Western Power, the people to award the contract, and Synergy, the owner of the wind farm each have dealings with EMC. Who are also W.A. based. Their speciality is developing microgrids. They do describe themsekves as 'agnostic' in regards to tech.

Now, I am sure that Mr Algar is aware of this, hopefully he is NOT puting all his eggs in Sunconnects basket and is making Vsun representations to companies with experience/speciality in this field of generation/storage and microgrids.

Supply the battery to whoever gets the contract, dont worry about the generation.

I genuinely hope you fellas get a look in to supply the battery.
