Chief, benign means gentle with personal reference and regarding the weather, benign means mild, so I was amused you consider the current late spring/summer conditions as mild with these past 3 days at Moomba airport having maxima of 39.1, 40.2 and 43.0C.
Still, some like it hot I'm told and I agree it sure beats offshore "hurricane alley"!
