It's possible because yesterday's sell off was on volume of 1.65 million.
The June low was on volume of 1.68 million while the September low was on volume of 2.54 million.
Yesterday's sell off was the second day in a row for a substantial percentage decline at one stage of trading also. (In some ways similar to June.)
