The big thing for the boffins to nut out is how to burn oil and coal in such a way as to trap the particulate matter, the ICE just pumps it out and since most cars and trucks are used in populated areas the high concentrations of the nasty particulates hang over urban living people's heads.
Only 30% of lung cancer deaths are smokers apparently the other 70% may have something to do with our love affair with fossil fuels, one of many possibilities I know but high up there.
Oil will be in high demand even after all our kids have been planted.
