Every game has its language.So if you want to play you need to use the terms that other players understand.
In Markets, saying 'I'm short Gold' means you are taking an active position which will benefit you if POG falls.This would usually involve Futures,Puts or CFDs.
I really don't think anyone who plays the Market game would disagree with any of this....
