ZipTel Announces Strategic Partnership with Tata Communications

ZipTel Limited (“ZipTel” or “the Company”, ASX: ZIP) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Tata Communications (“Tata”), the largest wholesale voice carrier in the world. Integrating Tata’s voice termination network into the Zipt Consumer product will result in improved quality of service ahead of roll out of the new subscription focus - offering competitive international calling bundles that yield recurring revenues. The integration also coincides with the upcoming launch of the Tizen platform version of Zipt, ensuring maximum uptake from this unique opportunity to build the consumer user base into paying users from our targeted marketing campaigns.
Tata delivers the highest level of voice termination quality and with their scale is able to do so at some of the most economic pricing available by such a carrier. Tata has significant coverage in areas where Zipt has excellent uptake, particularly South East Asia and the Subcontinent. For these Zipt users, the alliance with Tata will mean lower latency, higher quality calling and in many instances, lower prices to encourage top and bundle usage.
