I think you're spot on with your reasoning, and I've come to similar conclusions. I've been researching cobalt for the last 6 months and all the industry reports that I've read coming out of China discuss a rapid move into NCM and NCA batteries.

I bought into BAR after finally calling up the directors and quizzing them about the nature of the Mt thirsty resource, the scoping, drilling and mine process design that's been done to date, and the expected capex and opex. I'm convinced they're the best Australian bet (on speed to mine, capex and opex and value for money) and may be one of the first new cobalt mines globally next few years. I also met the directors recently at the AGM and felt that there were a managemnet team that I could trust (and they are really nice people too).

Then there's the manganese (going up in price too), the gold as a nice assurance and extra spec, and then the new Bitter Bore cobalt prospect which management are very excited about (similar geology to Mt Thirsty so potentially mine development could be fast-tracked as processes will be similar etc).

Oh yeah, and the ongoing discussions with billionaire Mark Creasy next door who owns the other 3rd of the Mt thirsty resource! Having him on board would be a coup - to say the least.

BAR and Conico ARE somewhat cautious and slow with marketing and coms, but hopefully this will pick up. They seem to be people who are just getting on with the job and not making much of a fuss about it. Which I like, a lot.
