I've just finished riding the Otago Rail Trail in the South Island of New Zealand, and whilst I didn't use an electric bike, there were charging points provided in some places for those who did. So, even in the remotest and smallest of towns, charging points are popping up and making the conversion to EV easier, particularly for people who have to travel long distances.
