    I certainly share your views on the innovation nation spiel.

    20%?

    20% is good. Usually....

    If you're account drops by 50%, then 20%, all in all, means nothing.
    If you make 20%. and your downside is 5%, then this has meaning. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

    I've posted before on the nature of compounding..I've had too much too drink to drag it up. But the general rule for compounding is, the LOWER the standard deviation (variance) of your trade returns is, the BETTER it is for compounding. Did a post a while ago with two trade sequences - same average win, same average win%, same number of trades, but the the trade sequence which had the least variance compounded the best. Like a sort of magic really.
