This may be true, but it doesn't make it OK. The two crooks in the aforementioned article took a lot of other people's money by what was to all intents and purposes a mugging. I suspect that the event of a couple of weeks ago scammed a lot of AKP shares from people with stop loss positions that would have been triggered by this bot activity. Whoever is driving these bots knows how to game the system to procure that. As far as I am concerned they are not welcome at my table, and should be deterred from playing their games. Call me naive, but I think other players share some corporate responsibility to resist and expose such activities. If the ASX doesn't give a hoot could that be because nobody else is making a noise about it either. They didn't take any of my money that time, but they took somebody's, and next time it could be mine - or yours. Who is to say that when the chip's big reveal comes those same scammers aren't going to find some way to fleece others then - and big time!
