952i,
I know this answer is directed at someone else but let me take a final opportunity to respond. I will try and stay away from these threads after this response.
Amazon had to go through IRAP compliance. While the Australian government has been actively tightening the noose on these cloud providers our own Melbourne IT had to route their traffic through Akamai because to put it simply they were "infrastructure" poor.
Any service being sold to enterprise in Australia does not only have to have privacy measure in place but also mitigation against
- Cryptographic security
- Physical threat to infrastructure
- Privileged access
- Infrastructure access and a lot more factors
Recently due to the storms in Sydney all major site including Kogan were down. For replication purposes Amazon's SQL includes a A-Z instance replication which will create a replica of your data in all centres including EU and US.
I know you think it's trivial but any enterprise will not touch your offering hosted on a cloud with a 10 foot pole. Specially from finance sector. Let me also say that Flamingo's AI offering will be hosted on cloud on Amazon.
I would exercise diligence and more so caution to say things as a "matter of fact" because xyz at Flamingo told me. At the end of the day, we as keyboard warriors type away and are the ones held liable if someone sues for negligence.
Flamingo is hosted in US via Amazon.

Simply because a person is a nuclear scientist his assertion that U235 is better than U238 is not true. A person's credentials have nothing to do with what is right or wrong.
A non holder looking to invest is more likely going to be more thorough in their search for information because there is no inherent bias. An investor once invested needs to work hard to defend his decision. Its like marriage , once you are married you work hard to preserve it.
My point being a non holder will be unbiased in their judgement than a holder.
I know that you would probably respond to these counters but I will end up leaving this here.
