Australia is perhaps uniquely the best place on earth to have nuclear power but it doesn't, mainly due to the ignorant and green. With all the issues around nuclear power now being known quantities and with climate change a real issue for the planet, the time to start a nuclear power industry in Australia is now. It is surely one area that we should be putting our out of work science and engineering graduates into. Applying the Badgerys Creek model we should be aiming to have our first nuclear power plant up and running by 2096.
