I also thought this was interesting:
    http://precast.org/2013/10/28-day-myth/

So as I read this article, they are saying that 28days is an arbitrary curing time that in the real world doesn't mean much.  In order to progress a job in many situations a slab needs to cure to a certain compressive strength before further work can be done on it,  which comes at a great expense of time and money.
Now as I remember our compressive strength is a huge 40% higher than the control at a mere 7days post pour.  Would that mean that in many situations the curing time could be significantly reduced thus saving a lot of time and money in many jobs?  Bear in mind this question is from a lay person when discussing concrete and sorry if this has already been discussed before as I am not on this forum that often.  Too many stocks to keep track of!
