The only problem with a takeover just now, is most Ni players of any worth have been running hard through the pon movement...and its likely the companies would be fully valued and in the long term expensive. A smarter play would be farmins or lease purchases where you aren't paying for the corporate shell.Mergers would be the second best bet, but its got to be a decent sized company to get any synergistic savings.
DMoore is a pretty smart guy, and remember that whilst he has bolstered MCR's minelife with Carnilya, RAV8 and continued exploration on MCR's existing tenements...he also wants to diversify the company so some focus away from Nickel in the medium term is on the cards.
Nickels great run will continue for another 12-18months IMHO, but I dont think he will wait til then to start to move further afield.
