Replacing 80 ppm standard Vitamin E with just 10 ppm TPM and improving on performance sounds good, but I questioned whether anyone would use as much as 100 ppm of Vitamin E in broiler feed.
Announcement said that optimal TPM (100ppm) gave a 3.1% improvement in FCR (feed conversion rate) compared to standard feed and a 2.1% improvement against standard Vitamin E feed (20ppm).
They also stated that a local poultry report (if true, would possibly need to be verified more substantially) suggested that every 1% improvement in FCR would give a $9.4mill financial saving to the Australian industry. Based on 2% improvement that would mean a total of $18.8mill across the whole Australian industry. How much would come in reveneue/profits to POH if they were to corner the whole market?
Glad to be corrected if my interpretation is incorrect but on the face of it, it doesn't seem to be a very profitable proposition on current data. But obviously it makes sense for POH to evaluate this thoroughly before making a final commercial decision.
