Footy, the old farts don't like change and come up with assorts of pathetic excuses. You just can't get a reasonable debate from them, day light saving is a great example

IMO the only thing stopping the majority of people voting to become a republic is the model, voters want a direct election and don't what to give politicians the power to do it for them
