Yes, high housing costs are all due to stupid, greedy people wanting to own a home, but you make no comment on the effect of population growth or the very restricted housing approval process. Wouldn't you think that 1500 people coming to SEQ each week and insufficient supply to meet it might be having a greater effect than the whimsy of stupid, greedy people, or doesn't the "Control Manual of BS Stories" have an answer for that?
Zen, your comment that rents wont go up because people cant afford then is a total joke. How is it then that Bangladesh, with its workers earning from 1 USD per day, has the highest land values in the world? People will pay higher rents by cramming into smaller spaces. Three families in a two bedroom unit? No worries.
