okay my thoughts on ms meng meng coz nobody seems to have any real info She doesn't exist in my opinion. I am just putting this out there for fun, but also because it does raise some good questions.
My reasons.
1. It's not an arabic name
2. If is Chinese origin of person living in KSA then they would have low status as a national Arabian
3. It's Chinese origin if using meng as a chinese character (孟)
4. meng meng together is highly unusual in chinese language as it is denoting both first name and family name. Usually there will be another name...eg. ho meng...or meng ho..mind you repeated names do happen although true meaning can't be understood without chinese characters
5. Cannot assume male or female from meng meng alone
6. According to a few colleagues lecturing at uni in KSA, chinese ladies cannot conduct high level business in KSA, and since this is primarily regarding investing in Saudi zinc, I think the govt would block her as investor. Even though she/he is appearing on auq ann as top shareholder, I have a feeling KSA would want to know a whole lot more about who is investing in their zinc under the sharia law. There are certainly some complications regarding male and female business acceptance esp when talking about foreign nationals. This is not Australia.
7. We never get anything other than a name on top shareholder docs (no chinese characters, no pty ltd etc..)
Based on the above and with chatting to colleagues in HK and in KSA, I still think it is an acronym for mining engineering or related
These are just my thoughts and I do appreciate danning and goldy suggesting she has a large purse, however, as an investor I want to know more about our top shareholder. Anyway, just posting coz I have free time today and it was fun to do a bit of research.
