all human drugs have to be subjected to PhaseIII evaluation trials - not just USA - which from go to whoa are anywhere between 10-15 years....
now if you check out Merial's site, they state that significant veterinary drugs can take over 10 years to test and develop - and it's got nothing to do with animal rights, just that big companies don't like making big mistakes with vet drugs...
IMU always use the statement that animal drugs are quicker to market than human drugs - yes they are but not necessarily by major margins - and in any event, it's taken so long for IMU to get off its ass that any advantage they might have has has already been lost. But then, they'd say anything...
