Who's going to stick a needle into every bird when you can spray this stuff around instead and control a contagion? Face it, the needles now dead as a method of protecting birds against viruses.

Particularly in the second and third world where the price of a bird is 15c and the price of a needle is what....5c? And there are billions of birds a year to protect. Each one stuck with a needle? I don't think so.

We get into infection control stats. Does anyone know the infection success rate required to create a pandemic?

It seems IMU has shown that H5N1 is going to be very hard to catch when a birds given their vaccine. Which is all that's required to control a pandemic. After all, we do know H5N1 hasn't become a problem in the human population because its so hard to catch. IMU seems to have created a method of simply creating the same resistance in the bird population. And so the contangion will be stopped there too.

IMU's trick is the ease of delivery.

They'll be putting this stuff into rivers and lakes to stop the wildlife spreading it around the cities and country side. Crop dusters will be flying over wetlands drifting it down onto the annual bird migrations.

We'll see those blokes that wander around slums in white robes and mask, spraying a mist of this stuff instead of the disinfectant they now have to use.

Hell, 65% protection rate, I'd be thinking about taking a quick snort of the stuff myself in a pandemic.

This is no longer about H5N1, this is about treating every bird flu virus and perhaps every virus that birds are now injected against. And its no longer about protecting some birds, its about protecting all birds in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd world.

IMU's taken their trivially easy to administer product, up to the worst virus we know, given the chickens a supernova overdose of H5N1, and the Grim Reaper could only take out 4 of the 11 birds.
