Thanks for the pleasant Christmas cheer - very nice!
No company has a monopoly on interoperability and connectivity tech for the IoT - as would be clear to you if you bothered researching at least some of the Intel Solutions Alliance members.
Take the most recent member (Cumulocity) which joined a few days ago, for example (but there are many more):
Cumulocity boosts IoT deployments by becoming part of Intel IoT Solutions Alliance
Posted on December 19th, 2016 by Anna Ribeiro
IoT device management and application enablement company Cumulocity recently took a key role in Intel’s modular, standards based IoT ecosystem. In addition, Cumulocity increases the number of Intel based IoT devices that can integrate with its IoT platform out-of-the-box.
With various disparate technologies, verticals and organizational maturity levels, Cumulocity believes that the Internet of Things (IoT) requires the collaboration of an ecosystem of partners to best serve an end customer’s unique needs in a way that focuses on benefits and minimizes the risks.
Cumulocity has been cooperating on technology with Intel since its formation in 2010, with the two companies now connecting their strong ecosystems to the benefit of all customers and partners.
Its integral role in both connectivity and inter-operability, is clear from this announcement:
Cumulocity successfully conducted OMA LWM2M (Lightweight M2M) interoperability tests with nine companies
9 February 2015 | by M2MWorldNews.com, OMA (Open Mobile Alliance) Lightweight M2M (LWM2M) specification is a new open industry standard which specifies a way to remotely manage a wide range of Machine-to-Machine (M2M) devices and connected appliances in the emerging Internet of Things (IoT).
Cumulocity is taking another leadership position in the IoT market by continuously enhancing its award-winning cloud-based IoT application platform to serve more and more industry verticals. The OMA LWM2M interoperability tests with nine device and gateway vendors showcase Cumulocity’s flexible and open architecture.
The architecture is protocol-, connectivity- and device-agnostic. This ensures future proofness and enables our partners and customers to deploy different protocols, connectivity solutions and devices with the same application and without the need to modify IT Integrations"
