    I agree with everything above.
The tolerant can not live side by side with intolerance, hate and bigotry.
I know that we've painted ourselves into a bit of a corner with the whole 'tolerance' idea.
Just as a certain ideology, ( sorry to some but the book of the desert isn't classes as a religion in some countries ), needs to revisit some of it's basic points, I beleive that this idea of tolerance needs to be fine tuned as well.

Perhaps we can start to talk about logical tolerance instead?
Logical is as much as hey- I don't want to intimidate/assault/convert/kidnap/harm or murder my neighbour no matter his/her way, and as long as my neighbour agrees, not only verbally but by their actions, we can all get along.
Ocker Joe like me and a newer Australian called whatever can have fun shaking our heads at the funny things we both do, but when a neighbour marches into the street and blocks my way just so he can 'pray', ( sorry but prayers should be able to be made in a few quiet moments standing, sitting or even swimming in the ocean as far as I'm concerned, after all god inhabits the universe, not just some stone idol in Arabia ), looks and acts nastily and aggressively to my female/gay/Christian/Jewish/Buddhist/Sikh/Hindu/atheist/whatever friends and family then it is time to examine my 'tolerance'.

Perhaps we could even change tolerance to fairness?
We will give you and your way a fair chance, but we will only tolerate your continued presence once you have shown the same willingness to allows a fair chance.

After all, isn't oz really built on the idea of a fair go? It was never founded on the idea of accepting that which harms us.
Merry Xmas, all the best for a safe 2017 for you and your family.
