Poor little Bill Leak. Somebody made a complaint about him - part of the job when you're a satirical cartoonist - and he got scared. Funny considering the really scary part of the law is defamation, not human rights, which has proven to be fairly toothless.

Thank goodness his employer was a multi-billion dollar company, as he ran up serious legal bills for them to pay. Of course he could have represented himself and been only up for the price of the bus fare to court, as he was never going to get more than a quiet chat in mediation and a slap on the wrist at worst.

But it's hard to be a martyr when you have to do all the work - bring the cross and nails and get your mates at The Australian to do the crucifying. The price of being a drama queen, I suppose.
