Smart Earbuds: The Next Big Thing In Wearable Technology

    Analysis, Mobile

Smart earbuds have the same computing power as a desktop computer with at least a few gigabytes. These interactive devices understand simple commands and can assist users with some of their daily activities. Examples of popular types of smart devices these earbuds could potentially interact include:
    • Smartphones
    • Smartwatches
    • Phablets
    • Smart glasses
    • Fitness tracking devices
Smart earbuds are just one of numerous products that are small in size yet can interact remotely when connected to a network.
Smart Earbuds Allow Users To Control Their Listening Experience

One thing that sets smart earbuds apart from earlier technologies is that they solve real problems instead of just being something nice to have. Nuheara, one of the leading manufactures of smart earbuds, states that the ear is a better location than the wrist to place a smart device. Ears move less and allow users to be more discrete about wearing and using this technology.
One of the major benefits of smart earbuds is that they allow people to take back control of what they hear. People who would normally balk at wearing a hearing aid welcome the opportunity to use a device that allows them to block background noise while hearing better in noisy environments. However, the capabilities of smart earbuds go far beyond that. They also provide a Bluetooth experience and a bio-metric tracker located in a wireless earbud.
With hundreds of millions of people worldwide having some degree of hearing loss, manufacturers predict an explosive market for smart earbuds. Even the most sophisticated hearing aids cannot offer the same level of control for people to hear what they want to hear and tune out that which is annoying to them.
Other Features Users Can Expect From Smart Earbuds

In addition to cancelling out unwanted background noise, wearers of smart earbuds can listen to music, podcasts, or audio books of their choosing. The hands-free capability makes it simple to place or receive a phone call or engage with voice-activated applications on a smartphone. The newest versions of smart earbuds are more lightweight and comfortable than anything developed up to this point. They remain securely in the ear regardless if the user is sitting still on a bus or engaged in an intense workout session.
Apple’s new product, called AirPods, promise to deliver stable connectivity, high-quality audio, and a long battery life. With its built-in optical sensor, users don’t have to worry about depleting the battery if they accidentally leave the device turned on. It will only play music when it senses that a user has placed the device in his or her ear. When a user speaks a voice command or wants to connect to Siri, smart earbuds cancel out ambient noise so they respond only to the words he or she speaks.
Most manufacturers plan to sell smart earbuds separately from their phone products. The current price range is from £120 to £160. Like many products, the price will likely come down the longer smart earbuds are on the market and the more people purchase them.
