Poster Scarpa probably nailed it when he said that Trump is actually to the left, a Liberal more inclined to the democrat side of politics. He has just nailed the conservative GOP on their vote to scrap the Ethics Committee and they have embarrassingly reversed their decision. Trumps politics are left the only rider being that his business interests come first and his political bent come second. He is a populist that will latch on to popular sentiment such as protectionism which are generally left policies.

As more evolves I envisage that the Trump groupies of the Hard Right will be having palpitations as they discover he may may in fact be more to the left than they claim
ridiculously that Malcolm Turnbull is. The Hard right are basically hanging all their baskets on terrorism and immigration but on the most important issue of the economy and
its impact on peoples lives the move is to the left with the public demanding a focus on good social policies in, job conditions and security, health and education. The immigration issue will eventually peter out as a key issue and political parties will need to focus on the daily needs of the people if they are to gain govt. In Australia the trend has already started and Labor has become resurgent everywhere. I will cover that on another thread.
