Although not touching them if the stock was clearly doomed I would presumably salvage some of it and that in effect would be a bonus as the full amount ($26.8k) is already written off.

Go back and read what you have written. You aren't hedging at all. You're cooking your own books. This is nothing but some shady accounting!

Given your vague rambling nonsensical answers and your penchant for accounting trickery, your case for becoming mgmt at SGH grows stronger.
