Gs have bought to lend to shorts for them to cover. A number of them would have lost money over the last few days and may be looking to cover their short positions. However they would also be worried about the impact their purchases on market would have on the share price. And lo behold Gs has just highlighted that they have shares that they would be willing to sell off-market to shorters. To me it appears covering up backside has well and truly commenced
