How about the library of 750 odd MSB patents and peer reviewed scientific reports that have been produced by MSB in the last decade—regardless of the financials I see value and that is what will get the partnerships.
Not sure why you ask me what the value of the patents and peer-reviewed scientific reports are: I have stated on many occasions that I don't know. Which is why - as I have also stated on many occasions - I am unable to derive a dollar valuation for MSB.
But since it is you that is expressly arguing that it is in the technology where the value lies, the surely it becomes incumbent on you (not me, for I admit to not knowing) to provide a demonstration of this.
So, what is your valuation figure (or range, if you prefer) for MSB and, importantly, how did you arrive at that number?
"Sure MSB is in danger of going broke, but the enterprise value is substantial and so not all is lost."
Not even I ever said MSB was in danger of going broke. I said the company is under-funded.
Huge difference.
Incidentally, that enterprise value to which you refer, can you provide any clearer indication of its monetary magnitude, over and above merely "substantial"?
"Regardless of your method of calculating value, the ball game has changed. The Cures act in the States has given MSB at least 3 free shots at goal and they could be selling this year—I put heaps of value on that."
So what is "heaps of value", in dollar terms?
True MSB has burnt lots of cash and as you say is close to a death spiral but that has not yet happened.
I never once used the term death spiral. Someone else did.
So please don't attribute what others say, to me.
Some questions Madam.
"How many people with your financial background would take the time to respond at length to posts regardless how trivial?"
Degrees of trivial-ness are in the eyes of the beholders. What might appear trivial to you (such as capital adequacy, for example) is of paramount importance to me. As for financial background specifically, I'm not sure what that has to do with anything, but yes, I find that I do feel most comfortable discussing matters related to accounting, finance and valuation theory.
No different, I think, to any posters who seek to contribute to a stock discussion forum from the standpoint from where they believe they can add the most value. That's only natural, after all.
Some have their strength in understanding physiological technicalities, some understand manufacturing processes, some have experience/expertise at regulatory matters, some now supply chain management, some are good at ferreting out information relating to competitors/suppliers, yet others post about governance, etc. etc.
Everyone brings his special brand of unique expertise/experience to a stock discussion forum. With the intention that the sum of the collective knowledge is greater than the total of the individual parts.
Isn't that why you are here?
How many highly credentialed people would show unlimited patience and tolerance towards quite a few on HC with poor investment knowledge?
Not sure about HotCopper.
But when I started out as a young, inexperienced investor, I came across numerous seasoned investors who helped to point out some of the stock market's common pitfalls to me, as well as what to look for when it came to investing, and how to identify good-quality, durable businesses that are able to create value for their shareholders.
Why does it surprise you so that people are willing to contribute to robust debate and discussion?
"How many posters would go to the trouble of consistently presenting perfect grammar, paragraph spacing and premeditated arguments in an informal forum like HC?"
I can't help it that - while I was publicly schooled - I have always try to maintain a certain decorum when it comes to pensmanship.
Put another way: I'm sorry I write properly. Would you have me intentionally commit errors of grammar, context and spelling?
How many non-holders would continue to post as often as you do?
I can't speak on behalf of other non-holders. How they conduct themselves is a matter entirely for them. Maybe some people don't feel as strongly about certain things as others.
How many posters would continue to give extensive and repetitive answers day in and day out when a few brief points would suffice?
Again, I'm sorry my writing style offends you so. My native tongue is not English, so this is how I learnt to write. If it has a tendency towards sesquipedalian loquaciousness, then I beg your pardon.
Sincere answers would be appreciated, after all, we do not want to give the wrong idea about the Mesomegablaster!
No doubt.
Again, looking forward to your valuation (somewhat more specific than just "heaps", if you don't mind) for MSB
