Sorry for my newbie status but how would these options actually work - I have been reading around and cannot fully understand how they work

Example:-

If I bought 1000000 options @ 0.001 and these are exercised at 7.5c would that mean I would have a bill of $75,000?

Or can I choose to exercise only a handful? Or have I got it completely wrong?!

Knowledge share would be greatly appreciated!
