Buyer and seller depth is often stacked including the smart money on the sides. Therefore, in stocks like DYL your ratios would be termed fairly useless.
VWAP is only an indication. There is no hard and fast rule.
If you want to get any true measure the velocity of traded money, you measure the trades going through per hour. Then you will have an idea on the money changing hands as well as the Avge trade. That in my view is far more important.
