Its how the USA operates. The region is/was stable but the USA seems to be changing that. Also the USA has military bases near Taiwan so China are building some bases nearer them perhaps. Fact is the Chinese will push in there zone of influence as would anyone else and i doubt they will stop due to military threat from the USA. The USA has a global strategy of trying to maintain its dominance and see China as the biggest threat, thats prolly what it is about, staying the top dog.
