I don't want to be a wet blanket but I do think it might be useful for posters to know that seepage of petroleum elements to the surface is not necessarily a good lead for the petroleum industry.

The seepage of gas at the surface certainly indicates that there is some local "kitchen" that has produced the gas. But it also indicates that, beneath the surface, there is no effective seal which is essential to trap the petroleum elements into a reservoir of some kind.

A common result of drilling prompted by the presence of a petroleum seep is for the well to intersect traces of petroleum only. That is for the reason that the bulk of the petroleum generated in the kitchen has long since drifted to the surface and dissipated.
