Very positive in that the gold mineralisation extends 50m south and 25m east of previous drilling which should provide for a reasonable upgrade to the existing JORC resource at Wombola Dam/Pit. Further drilling 25m apart is now on the cards which should continue to provide more news flow and momentum for the stock. A re-evaluation of the resource is followed thereafter.

Further Positive Drilling Results at Wombola Dam

Cortona Resources Ltd (CRC) informs the Market that RC drilling results have been received from the latest round of drilling at Wombola Dam. The assays highlight scope to upgrade the resource estimate announced by the Company in November 2006.

Better results from the recent drilling include:
2m @ 35.4g/t Au from 31m
3m @ 10.6g/t Au from 35m
2m @ 11.6g/t Au from 15m
8m @ 3.72 g/t Au from 49m

RC Drilling, Wombola Dam, January/February 2007

Cortona’s successful 2006 drilling programs at Wombola Dam in the North Monger project near Kalgoorlie (Figure 1) resulted in a new resource estimate of 407,000t at
2.4g/t for 31,700oz Au. The resource was interpreted to remain ‘open’ to the south and east.

The Company has explored these ‘open’ areas with 1800m of reverse circulation (RC) drilling during January and February. A total of thirty holes were angled towards the southeast and drilled to an average depth of 60m (Figure 2). The results are very encouraging (Table 1), and indicate that the mineralised sheeted veins and host dolerite extend at least 50m further south of the previous drilling, and at least 25m further east (Figure 2). There appears to be reasonable continuity in mineralisation and grades, confirming the potential to increase the shallow resources outlined to date.

The Company will now tighten the drilling to 25m centres prior to commissioning a revised resource estimate.

North Monger Update
Both the structural and geochemical mapping programs at North Monger are nearing completion. Initial indications are that both will add greatly to the Company’s targeting at the project. The data from all recent activities will be incorporated into a prospectivity map, and the priority targets will be explored at the earliest opportunity.
