Hi @Over reaching
Thank you for the feedback. For me it is a constant learning curve. The recipe that any one member here follows is different. A few years ago, someone asked me a question regarding a stock, and whilst I never give a buy or sell trigger so to speak, it did not turn out the way I had intended. Suffice to say that I ended up with singed fingers. Anyway I decided from that time on I would not discuss my personal holdings. Some of the team do, and some dont. We are all different in how we operate. Re keeping across a number of stocks no, not really. The systems that I have built over years and refined make that a smooth but importantly easy exercise.
I noticed that I hope you said in gest that: "(cant live up to it, got to be realistic)". I will however provide some feedback after reading that. Now I am not sure whether that was just a throw away kind of remark or other. Trading stocks is an amazing and unlimited journey. If you always have an open mind and be inquisitive eg like asking me some questions then you are on the right path. I have and will always be a person whom is mindful in whatever it is that I am doing. Mindfulness and trading is something that many traders could benefit from as it helps to tether traders emotions.
Lastly to become a Doctor how many years of slaving away at University does it take before you are given the ok to go out and become a GP? How long does it take to become a qualified sparky, plumber??? etc etc. I think that some people do not quite understand that to become a successful trader takes time and many other traits, skills etc which is a completely different chapter of the book. PS The Short Term Knowledge Library is a must read times 2-3 for all levels of traders, beginners to pros imho. So to finish off, please never close a door with thoughts of 'got to be realistic'. Trading for the majority of people takes years and years to get on top of. However just when you think you are on top of it, bang it will hit you in the face with a gentle reminder. So Best Wishes with your trading journey and never ever sell yourself short again.
Best Wishes
