I use metastock version 8.01. Charts nicely using end of day data. Powerful exploration capacity looking for stocks which meet certain criteria either - criteria either pre written or written yourself. Metastock also can back test these criteria on chosen stocks to demonstrate if the stock lends itself profitably to meeting the selected criteria.

Its got heaps of standard and non standard indicators and explorations inbuilt.

I use Commsec PT1 for my live intraday data and trading but this hasn't got the same 'tools' for technical criteria alerts (if you know what I mean) if they provide the buy trigger. Metastock has a pro package which is live.
