I concur at least in part, that vested interests can and do play a part in the level of exposure a company receives from the media –and for mine that is why Westmoon is correct – we need PR people on board

Many things influence the level of exposure a company receives and I do not profess to know them in detail but they include the overarching aim of the business – i.e to sell as many units of the communication medium as they can– as such they will run a Telstra story heaps more than many others because many people have Telstra shares and will buy the paper to read about the company they follow - just like we would. That does not mean there is no room for filler stories on companies like ours.

Of course many other things come into play as well - such as how topical the subject matter is at the time and how easy it is to source info – whether we present our info in an easy to digest format for them, like the inverted pyramid style they use and the list would go on and on.

As I see it, we are all sort of competing for print space and for mine, that is why Westmoon is correct – we need PR people on board who understand these competing interests – who bring with them carefully nurtured contacts and cultivated networks and can sort of turn geologist speak into journo speak.

Add to this the likelihood we will soon enough be submitting an application to mine uranium – and while that will ineed see us on the front page so to speak - it will also see the anti U mobs swing their PR machines into full gear – for mine – we should have someone on board now – so they are fully across all facets of the company and a locked and loaded for the fight – and I do think there will be a fight. (of course I have no doubt we will win – and I don;t know how hard a fight it will be - but a fight there will be nonetheless.)
