yes, major political parties have become "big business" and are being operated like any othe big business. The difference is, the "profit" motive for these political parties is "winning election", and the "consumers" are the voters.
We need more independents in parliaments. Not the turn-coat type independents who stand as independents after losing pre-selection.
and, of course, more newspapers and media medium to report a diversity of views.
