I have just done as you suggested and searched "police check" on Google. CVCheck are the #2 result. National Crime Check are #1, whose police checks are $49.50, compared to CVCheck's $44.90. I expect NCC are much more expensive because police checks are their sole source of income, when it is only one facet of CVCheck's business. NCC also return "most checks" within 24 hours, compared to CVCheck's <1 hour. It seems like a futile comparison, to me.
