Share Re-purchase Plan

An announcement at HY17 of a share re-purchase plan would be beneficial to SP. It would also help to counteract the shorts.

Being new to investing, I am amazed at the power of the shorters to influence SP movement, particularly in a given day. It appears they can borrow and return shares on the same day with ease for A2m. Last Friday is a case in point. Too easy for them. And I am conscious that was also in the face of pending good news expected by nearly all at HY17.

In NZ, where shorting is supposedly outlawed, I see an apparent trend to "inflate" (conspiracy theory?) the number of sellers in the market to influence SP movement. Again, using A2m and last Friday as an example, instead of a small parcel of say 10000 shares being posted as 1 seller, 17 sellers suddenly appeared at the same price. We are not talking odd lots of under 100 units, but parcels of odd numbers viz. 389, 908 etc. I bought some. Seemed strange.
