She was the Headmistress at my Infant School. Back then, all headmistresses were scary. One of the girls was called Deborah May Stretch. She was very naughty and saw a lot of Miss Isles!

We had a guy who serviced the timecard machine called Ed Case.

I never knew what the company did, but in Bristol there were vans with Bray and Slaughter as the company name, sounded as though they should have been a knackers yard. And in Weston super Mare there was a firm of solicitors Wright Hassall and Co. with real estate agents in Dartmouth called Lecher and Scorer.
