Absolutely they can but IMO for everyone on here who keeps scratching their heads In amazement as to why the stock is no longer responding to news then this is why.
IMO if you keep coming out with announcements that don't have real significance (but say they do) the market becomes "conditioned" to the stock not responding and it becomes a bit like "the boy who cried wolf" (pardon the pun).
IMO there is a fine line between "promotion" and "senseless reporting".
