I couldn't disagree more. The states have dropped the ball in healthcare, education and water despite record receipts from the GST and stamp duties which were supposed to be abolished after the GST windfall. They are a useless layer of bureaucracy, just as in touch with their locals as any bunch of self serving politicians. It will never happen, but the States should be scrapped and local govt beefed up. 2 layers og government is alll this country needs, there is so much waste.
