It generally takes ages, especially by archaic cheque system. The money has to be cleared by the registry (which probably takes a week) and then sent to the company, and then instated as stock. Add on top of that mail time, processing time.... etc etc.
Sometimes you can contact the registry and get a BPAY number and it speeds things up ridiculously.
