Of course PTR is a spec, but so is GDY, and it's cap is about three times higher.
Further GDY has one approach, one chance of getting it right basically. On the otherhand PTR is spreading it's efforts across different geographies and technical/economic challenges.
And the most telling point: PTR has in BPT attracted a very commercially savy farm-in partner in with strong geosciences credibility.
GDY may still be trying to crack granite in another 7 years, and possibly been lauded at scientific conferences for there contribution. But I suspect PTR will meanwhile have tried many things in that time, and made one or two work technically and economically.
Just my opinion, and yes I do own a few PTR shares (from the float).
