First rule of boxing "Protect yourself at all times"
I have rewatched the incident a dozen times and the ref did not say "Break" at any time. He actually said at one point to Mundine "Get off him" but that is not an official command for the boxers to separate. Mundine used a legal tacit in a clinch and for it to be a point deduction was also the wrong ruling.
If the ref believed it was a foul hence the pt deduction, than he got that wrong as it should have been a DQ as Green could not continue. The ref was even helping Green up. It was a very confusing incident.
The judge who scored it 98-90 came out today and apologised..... wtf?
