Perhaps Mr. and Mrs. Howard could stay at the local backpacker's next time they're in London or Washington.
And eat at the local fish and chip diner.
And Mr. Howard went to the cricket for one day - and saw his son Richard. How gross- how offensive - how
presumptious! What a damn cheek. The nerve of the man!
The poor guy has a job not many would want in terms of the continual huge stress and demands placed upon him, being on call 24/7 - a job which has expanded out from being not only a domestic political job, but a world statesman job. His private life would be virtually zilch.
He has to be on top of his job" minute to minute, making decisions which would turn many men's hair grey overnight.
His wife, a quiet and dignified partner, also gives up much of her life to support him.
For this, he gets paid a lousy $250,000 a year.
And, unlike the US, where the President of the United States is treated with respect and dignity, regardless of political persuasion, Howard has scorn and insult heaped on him daily by surly far left-wing journalists and cartoonists,, and by the majority of the Canberra Press Gallery, who will fall over ANY leadership candidate the Labor Party dredges up in their desperation - even if he's a Frankenstein, a Rasputin, or a someone obviously not up to the job ( as in a recent instance.)
Now we have Pixie Rudd (yes, rude, but we are sick of hearing your "Little Johnny's" - never heard "Little Hawkies!!" and he's a darn sight shorter than John Howard) putting on a serious face and pretending to be all things to all men. If I assume a ponderous, nice guy look and act as if I know what I am talking about - it'll sound good and they'll elect me!!
What are his policies. What IS his experience. Why did he have three pre-planned meetings with Brian Burke??
Is he capable of meeting the hugely high demans of world statesmanship?
In future, we should hire a cheap Virgin or Jetsar flight for the Howards - put them up in some cheapereano 4 star flea hole, makw them eat at McDobalkds, and let's show the world that, in terms of our leaders, we really don't give a damn. And, as for respect for the office, forget it!
John Howard has devoted most of his life to the service of Australia. And. in the opinion of many (he HAS won the last four elections) has done a mighty good job! And what thanks does he get for it??
Just let's keep voting for the party card - must maintain the status quo! Pixie Rudd for PM!!
Never mind who, or what, he is. Nor his qualifications, and experience, for the job.
